You need one of a list of specific photo IDs to vote. You need certified copy of your birth certificate to get ID. Need ID to get certified birth certificate.
Oh, yeah, it's all about preventing 'voter fraud'. Sure it is. Uh-huh.
By the way, do YOU have certified copied of your birth certificate? How about certified copies of registration of marriage? Death certificates of people in your family you may have to do some final details for? Here is a good link to keep, it will give you starting point for getting copies of your important docs, by state.

Considering all the crap the GOP pols are putting in place, it might not be a bad idea to get the docs you need ASAP. Who knows when they will demand YOUR birth certificate for the most basic services.
I need to get a certified copy of this, that and the other thing. Guess what? I need a photo ID to show a notary when I sign the requests on forms to be sent to the various states I need docs from. Now if I didn't already have a drivers license, I would be SOL. Think of the young people who don't drive yet, the old people who don't drive anymore, the poor people who don't drive because they can't afford to. They're screwed.
At least my state sends out voter ID cards to people after they register to vote. Why other states can't do that is beyond me. Oh, yeah, because they hate democracy and don't want people to vote.
